初到貴境 Step by Step 101
1) 於香港預訂數天Hostel
2) 到步後立即買一張手提電話卡

3) 到National Immigration Bureau申請GNIB 卡，類似身份證，需要passport及€100

4) 到住所所屬區域的Social and Family Affairs Office申請Personal Public Service Number(PPS Number)

5)當有了PPS Number 後就可以申請銀行戶口

Hi, 請問大家去銀行開戶口時有無遇到困難? 我尋日去咗好多間不同既銀行同唔同既BRANCH去問, 除咗PPS. NO., PASSPORT, GNIB CARD, INITIAL DEPOSIT之外, 佢哋仲話要住址証明, 1) 可以係任何一種BILLS(LIKE BINS, ELECTRICITY), 但我係响一個IRISH FAMILY到住, 唔知佢哋肯唔肯加我個名, 我屋主咁啱外出, 要下星期先返, 問唔到佢住... 2) MOBILE亦得, 但我只係用SIM CARD, 無上台, 上台好似要住夠一段時間先可以上..., 3) 或者DRIVING LISCENSES, 但我又無, 唔通要响愛爾蘭考番個? HEHE... 4) 或者僱住既TAX FREE ALLOWANCE CERT., 但我仲搵緊工... 仲有其他証明都得, 但我哋WHA一定唔會响愛爾蘭有既文件...

請問有無人未搵到嘢做但先開定銀行戶口而又唔需要以上果D住址証明呢?

我同佢哋講, 我申請PPS NO. 時已經叫LANDLORD寫信証明我响到住, 但佢哋堅持話寫信唔得 (可能係人都可以寫啩...) 仲要一定要係BILL上面有你個名同你個住址... sigh...

一句講晒... 勞力搵工, 只有呢個方法最可行開到個BANK A/C...

每一間銀行, 每一間分行既做法都唔同
我在AIB開戶口, 只要Passport和住址證明, 不用PPS, initial deposit和GNIB
我的住址證明是用申請PPS那封通知信, 上面是自己名的

申請PPS只要五日就拎到信, 拎到信就可以開到A/C
唔一定要有工番

我亦都聽過有個case
無PPS, 無自已名既住址證明
只用Passport 和屋主寫的address proof就可以開到A/C

我想問下大家，你們通常都會去歐洲旅行架啦，咁…bank of Ireland的提款卡在歐洲地方可以提款嗎﹖方便嗎﹖還是，都係申請hsbc好呢﹖因為，歐洲好似幾多hsbc。

When you're abroad, you can use Laser card to pay for your purchases and to get cashback (for some only) anywhere you see the Maestro sign and you can get cash anywhere you see the Cirrus sign.

There may or may not be a small charge to use the card abroad.

Most of the banks in Ireland do laser card for current account, including Bank of Ireland. As there is no retail arm of HSBC in Ireland, this is less convenient.

Actually I decide go to Ireland in mid of Apr for WHV.

I aware that the next application will be 01 Mar 2009 and only 100 people quota. I am afraid if I provide the doc. (i saw above some of people need hand in more than 2 times sin success)  Therefore I would like to as which type of document that I need to prepare, thanks

所需文件可以在愛爾蘭領事館找得到
好多人只要去一次就搞得掂

你既問題....好難答你要帶咩上去.....只要跟足領事館要求, 唔會出咩問題
就算一次搞唔掂, 上去兩次、三次都唔會係好麻煩既事ar

再加上你打算四月中出發, 估計你都會三月會去apply
d quota 唔會咁快爆, 可以唔洗咁擔心

Does anyone know where I can check the WHA quota this year? As I plan to go this Dec or next Jan...afraid that the quota is full at that time...

Will anyone submit the application so early? thanks all!

you can check on the website http://www.consulateofireland.hk/
each year, there are 100 places
the consulate sort of suggests we apply three months before we leave. if u apply too early, they may put ur application on pending / on hold. but if u apply too late, quota may be full.
last year, quota was full around end of july, not sure about this year.

而家d經濟好似越來越差,愛爾蘭本地都好多人失業,
如果去到長期都揾唔到工,就無左一作假期的意義啦,
姐會困住左在愛爾蘭,又無資金去旅行,
會浪費左甘好的經驗,
點算,左右兩頭難,
我有d朋友都係因為經濟差,所以今年唔去啦...
有冇人可以講下愛爾蘭果邊的情況呀..?
